Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces

A resurgent the Russian player won his first trophy for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.

Currently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This represents his maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard surface after that period of 2023.

The win also signifies he has secured 21 victories at 21 various competitions.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a competition with my two daughters together, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," said world number 14 Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child her name, because the initial championship I got when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his past six finals, including in Halle in the past months.

The player's counter-punching play style and recurring reactions on the playing surface had led observers to question if his skill to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an better serving game.

He came back from a break down in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to gain the advantage.

The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before Moutet, attempting for his initial ATP Tour victory, took control to push for a decider.

Moutet defended 4 early-game opportunities in a close final set before the Russian broke to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner earned the win with a shot at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
